How consumers are being robbed by the cable companies!
Ever asked yourself why you’re being charged a rental fee for a converter box? or Why you’re not allowed to purchase your own to use with their service?
After about a year of questioning, no one from the cable companies have ever told me why consumers are not allowed to purchase their own converter boxes. I mean, think about it….how much can a converter box possibly be? If I were to guess, I would think perhaps $100 max. What’s my point you may ask? My point is this: if a cable box costs about $100, consumers should not be billed past that once their rental fee reaches the cost of the box.
In case any of you have never experienced this; these companies charge a hefty fee if their equipment isn’t returned at the end of a service cycle. Now, why not just sell the box to a consumer from the get-go so that they can just pay for the (sometimes mediocre) service being rendered in the first place?
The other issue is this “promotion” scam they got going on. A set fee for one year, then price goes up inexplicably just about every other month. Their greed is the drive behind it all and only consumers can put this to an end.
It’s time to put a stop to this madness. How long must we pay for a damn remote and cable box? If you’re tired of this madness, please fill out the form below. Once we reach enough petitioners, this will be brought forth before the D.A. and Department of Consumer Affairs. We work too damn hard to hand over free money to greedy conglomerates.
